CIVCO's patient respiration monitor accessories for ultrasound systems include a nasal thermistor probe to generate a signal according to the patients' breathing pattern and disposable nose clips. The nasal probe works in conjunction with a monitor via an amplified signal that is sent to the ultrasound system. A trace of the patient's respiration pattern then is displayed on the ultrasound system monitor. The respiration trace, when displayed with ECG and echocardiographic data, provides valuable timing information for assessing the effects of respiration of various cardiac functions and hemodynamics.
